Brooklyn Center Community Schools

Our licensed child care center provides a safe and nurturing experience for children and families. Children ages 6 weeks - 3 years old will discover the world around them while engaging in fun, hands on experiences. Open 7:00 am - 4:30 pm on school days and most teacher duty days.

Our fee based child care program provides fun and engaging activities for school age children during after-school, non-school days and summer. Grades Preschool through 5th grade at Brooklyn Center Elementary School.

Our full-day preschool class provides 3-year-old scholars with opportunities to explore the world through fun, hands-on learning and an engaging curriculum. This class combines elements of preschool, child care, and social-emotional learning to support the needs of children and families. Age Requirements: Summer Preschool Prep: Children must be at least 33 months old before the first day of class. School-Year Program: Children must be 3 years old by September 1, 2025 to enroll. Children who are 4 years old by September 1, 2025 must enroll in Pre-K. For questions, please email childcareprograms@bccs286.org. Registration for Summer Preschool Prep is temporarily closed and will open up again shortly. If you are in need of child care Monday-Friday, please register your child with Centaur Plus. Please not children must be at least 33 months upon the first day of attendance.

LEAP 21 is FREE for all registered students going into grades 6-9, and is funded through a combination of a 21st Century Community Learning grant and Targeted Services. The program is facilitated by licensed teachers and trained youth development professionals to ensure we offer a high quality program to our students. Monday-Thursday June 17-July 25 8:30am-1:00pm Location for all camps will be at the South Campus: 5951 Earle Brown Drive Brooklyn Center, MN 55430 Schedule 8:00-8:30 Breakfast 8:30-12:30 Camps 12:30-1:00 Lunch 1:00 Departure Breakfast and Lunch are provided daily for ALL students! Each camp will have at least one field trip per week related to their respective camps to increase student engagement.

Our Before & After Pre-K Child Care Program provides a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for young learners and is designed for children ages 4-5, attending Pre-K at Brooklyn Center Elementary School. Our program offers structured activities that promote creativity, social development, and early learning, all while ensuring a smooth transition between home and school. In the morning session, children enjoy a warm and welcoming start to their day with quiet activities, storytime, and hands-on learning that prepares them for a successful school day. Our caring staff fosters a calm and supportive atmosphere to help children ease into their morning routine before starting their day at Pre-K. In the afternoon session, after a busy school day, children unwind with play-based activities, arts and crafts, music, movement, and outdoor exploration. Our dedicated and experienced staff ensures that every child feels safe, supported, and engaged in an enriching environment that fosters independence, creativity, and a love for learning. Whether before or after school, our program offers a comforting extension of your child’s school day, giving parents peace of mind and children a place to thrive.
