Centaur Plus (previously Bright Start) is a fee-based child care program that provides quality and engaging instruction in a safe and nurturing environment for after school care, non-school/release days, and summer programs for youth in Pre-Kindergarten through fifth grade.

Summer Days & Times: Monday - Thursday, 8:00am -2:00pm
Cost: Free
Transportation provided for those who qualify. Snacks are available to all participants.
STEP offers daily academic and enrichment opportunities. Licensed teachers, qualified youth program staff, and community partners will work with students to help them identify their interests and strengths and develop their academic skills. Students will be able to self-select clubs of interest from such areas as physical activity, music and arts, STEAM and more.
This initiative is made possible with a grant from the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) using federal 21st Century Community Learning Centers funding. Neither, MDE nor the U.S. Department of Education endorses the program or its services.

Centaur Beginnings (previously Baby Steps), is an on-site child care program for parenting teens attending Brooklyn Center Schools, BCCS Staff and Pathways students. Care is provided for children 6 weeks - 3 years old.

Age group: Grades 6-12
Dates: September 20, 2021 - May 26, 2022
Days & Times: Monday - Thursday, 7:30-8:15am & 3:45-6pm
Cost: Free
Transportation provided for those who qualify. Snacks and dinner available to all participants.
LEAP helps students accelerate their skills in reading and math and offers exciting enrichment activities in such areas as arts, entrepreneurship, youth leadership, physical activity, STEM, and more! This summer, LEAP participants will select from a variety of engaging clubs The program is led by licensed teachers and qualified youth program staff.

CREDIT RECOVERY (APEX)
Age group: Grades 9-12
Dates: June 20- July 28
Days & Times: Monday - Thursday, 9:00 am to 1:30 pm
This summer, Credit Recovery sessions will be offered both in-person and virtually. Students will have the option to complete full courses through the APEX platform or finish courses that they began during the school year. A licensed teacher will provide ongoing coaching and support to the student as they progress through their course(s).
Students should work directly with their school guidance counselor to determine their course needs and complete their enrollment in summer credit recovery courses.

CREDIT ACCELERATION
Age group: Grades 9-12
Dates: June 20- July 28
Days & Times: Monday - Thursday, 9:00 am to 1:30 pm
This summer, Credit Acceleration courses will be offered onsite for high school students. This program provides the opportunity to earn high school credits in courses that they may not be able to schedule during the school year.
Courses will be offered based on staff and student interest.CLASSES OFFERED THIS SUMMER:
- 9th Grade Leadership (ELA Credit)
- Career and College Exploration (Elective Credit)
- Going Green with Gardening and Green Careers (Elective Credit)
