Centaur Beginnings Child Care provides families with onsite child care for Brooklyn Center Community Schools #286. We provide care for children 6 weeks - 3 years old.
Centaur Plus is a quality and engaging school age care program for youth in Preschool through Fifth grade. For the upcoming school year, students in Preschool & Pre-K, please register for Early Learning Centaur Plus.
Full day preschool for 3 year olds.
The Early Childhood Centaur Plus program provides before, after school, non-school day and summer child care for students ages 3-5 attending Preschool & Pre-K.
STEP 21 Summer is a summer program that combines academic rigor with enrichment opportunities so all students can grow socially, emotionally and academically.
LEAP 21 Summer offers students opportunities to engage in fun educational experiences with licensed teachers as well as exciting enrichment opportunities with community partners and youth workers, all within an area of their own interest.
STEP is an additional academic and enrichment opportunity to accelerate a student’s learning from outside the traditional classroom setting. STEP at Brooklyn Center Elementary STEAM focus on academics, technology, enrichment, and health and wellness. The STEP program offers a variety of alternative learning techniques and experiences to enhance the academic environment. The main goal of STEP is to give students the tools, techniques, strengths and confidence as a learner to be successful. Students are also able to explore and focus in areas of interest. All Brooklyn Center Elementary STEAM students are welcome to register and participate on a first come first serve basis!
CLASS/CLUB DESCRIPTIONS
Targeted Services (MON-THUR): Scholars will receive additional academic enrichment opportunities to accelerate a student’s learning from outside the traditional classroom setting. Continious Learning Plans with grade level goals will be used to measure a our scholar's academic improvement tin literacy and math.
Chill, Chat, Create (MON-WED): Scholars will have the opportunity to join their friends after school as they chill, chat and create varies projects though different types of art mediums. Scholars will have opportunity to engage in conversation (Chat) as they answer the (kid friendly) question prompt of the day.
Rope Power (MON-WED): In partnership with InTENtions Enrichment Center, Rope Power is an initiative created to get scholars active while teaching character development, health, nutrition, and social skills. Through skill based challenges and character development scholars will learn the power of jumping rope and setting goals.
Children's Theater Residency Social Justice Storytellers (THUR): Explore speaking up for what you believe in with a Teaching Artist from the Children's Theatre Company! Students will learn acting skills to tell stories of social justice and find the power of their own voice.
Dance Class (WED & THUR): Scholars will learn various dance techniques and choreographed routines dance that will be performed at BCCS events throughout the school year. This class has 3 sessions with 4 performances. Details will come upon enrollment.
