  • InTENtions Youth Enrichment 2023-2024

    We are a 501c3 non profit enrichment center. Our goal is to provide a safe space for youth and their families to learn and connect to their community. Our aim is to bring intentional programs and events to youth and their families and build community connections. Fall Evening Program Details: Young Kings Corner Boys Group - This program offers mentorship for young boys coming of age, connecting them with male mentors who reflect their cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Day: Wednesdays Time: 4:30pm - 6:00pm Grades: 4-5 I AM HER Girls Group - This program offers group mentoring for young girls coming of age, connecting them with sheroes past and present who reflect their cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We identify character traits and create local service learning projects based on the sheroes who changed the world. Day: Thursdays Time: 4:30pm - 6:00pm Grades: 4-5 LIT Girls - This program aims to connect girls interested in leadership to women in the community and provide them with a community who supports, educates and connects them to leadership opportunities based on their passions and goals. Day: Mondays Time: 6:00 -7:30pm Grades: 6-12 InTENtional Fridays: The InTENtions Enrichment Center will offer a safe place for an intentional Friday hang out. Come be social with friends and receive leadership and STEM opportunities to spark new interests. Day: Fridays Time: 3:30pm -7:30pm Grades: 6-12

    LEAP offers participants extra academic and exciting enrichment opportunities to enhance their learning outside of the classroom.   • STEP SPRING SESSION 2024

    STEP is an additional academic and enrichment opportunity to accelerate a student’s learning from outside the traditional classroom setting. STEP at Brooklyn Center Elementary STEAM focus on academics, technology, enrichment, and health and wellness. The STEP program offers a variety of alternative learning techniques and experiences to enhance the academic environment. The main goal of STEP is to give students the tools, techniques, strengths and confidence as a learner to be successful. Students are also able to explore and focus in areas of interest. All Brooklyn Center Elementary STEAM students are welcome to register and participate on a first come first serve basis! CLASS/CLUB DESCRIPTIONS Targeted Services: Scholars will receive additional academic enrichment opportunities to accelerate a student’s learning from outside the traditional classroom setting. Continious Learning Plans with grade level goals will be used to measure a our scholar's academic improvement tin literacy and math. Chill, Chat, Create: Scholars will have the opportunity to join their friends after school as they chill, chat and create varies projects though different types of art mediums. Scholars will have opportunity to engage in conversation (Chat) as they answer the (kid friendly) question prompt of the day. Jewelry Club: Scholars will create jewelry with various material. Rope Power: In partnership with InTENtions Enrichment Center, Rope Power is an initiative created to get scholars active while teaching character development, health, nutrition, and social skills. Through skill based challenges and character development scholars will learn the power of jumping rope and setting goals. Girls On The Run: GOTR inspires participants of all abilities to recognize their individual strengths while building a sense of connection in a team setting. Volunteer coaches facilitate lessons that blend physical activity with life skill development to enable participants to adapt to whatever comes their way. At the end of the season, the team completes a 5K together, which provides a tangible sense of accomplishment and sets a confident mindset into motion. Please Note: Due to our STEP program schedule, scholars may be registered for only ONE STEP class or club at a time. Please do not enroll your scholar into multiple classes/clubs. Scholars who are registered for multiple classes will automatically be moved to the waitlist until single registration selections are enrolled. Once those registrations are completed, if space still available, one of our team members will reach out to you. Evening Clubs: We have great opportunities for your scholar to attend an evening club with our Community Partner, InTENtions Enrichment Center. You may sign your scholar up for an after school club and an evening club if you'd like, or sign them up for only the evening one day a week. Please use This Link to register your scholar for an evening club. If your scholar has been registered for an evening club, you will not have to re-enroll. Please note: Transportation to and from Intentions is provided by the scholar's caregiver. Transportation provide to those who are eligible.
